Dr. David Bunn has worked alongside Dr. John Merrill as an associate dentist for many years. He shares Dr. Merrill’s high standards for dentistry and always puts your needs first.
Dr. Bunn also brings a unique set of skills to our office, particularly in dental implants.
As our practice has grown alongside Dr. Bunn’s role, it seemed only natural that he would officially join our practice.
That’s why we’re so excited to announce that as of April 1, 2022:
Dr. Merrill and Dr. Bunn are partners, sharing ownership of NorthStar Dentistry For Adults.

Dr. Merrill isn’t going anywhere (nor is Steve!).
He and Dr. Bunn will continue to provide dental care as they’ve always done.
However, you can now expect to keep seeing Dr. Bunn long-term.

Get to know Dr. Bunn

1. Where is he from?
Dr. Bunn was born and raised in Michigan. However, he spent many vacations in North Carolina, visiting family and enjoying places like the Outer Banks.
2. How did he choose dentistry?
His family’s dentist sparked his interest, and he found it to be the perfect career to combine his two passions, namely:
- Helping people
- Expressing himself artistically
3. What’s his educational background?
Like Dr. Merrill, he graduated from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry… This text opens a new tab to the university’s website…, which was voted the #1 dental school worldwide.
There, he was awarded “Most Trusted to Be Our Own Dentist” by his graduating class.
Dr. Bunn’s other credentials include:
- Advanced education in general dentistry residency with the University of Florida
- Completion of an eight-month implant training program
- Completion of Core Curriculum in Comprehensive Dentistry through the Dawson Academy
