Meet Dr. David Bunn

Dr. Bunn graduated with honors from the University of Michigan School of DentistryThis link opens a new tab to USMSD website in 2013, where he earned a meaningful distinction from his classmates. Out of a class of more than 120 dentists, he was voted “most trusted to be our dentist,” meaning his peers chose him as the person they would trust with their own dental care.

After dental school, Dr. Bunn was one of only ten dentists accepted into the prestigious Advanced Education in General Dentistry program through the University of Florida. This additional training in St. Petersburg, Florida, gave him the opportunity to work closely with and learn from specialists, including oral surgeons, periodontists, and prosthodontists. Through this residency, he developed a deeper understanding of complex, multi-specialty dentistry and how to approach care with a more comprehensive perspective.

During his residency, Dr. Bunn also trained at the Dawson AcademyThis link opens a new tab to Dawson Academy website under Dr. Pete Dawson and completed the academy’s curriculum. This advanced education focused on complex full-mouth rehabilitation and occlusion, or the way the bite functions. Dr. Bunn was fortunate to spend time learning directly from Dr. Dawson as part of one of the final residency classes to train with him before his passing.

Implant dentistry also became an important part of Dr. Bunn’s advanced training. During residency, he participated in Implant EducatorsThis link opens a new tab to Implant Educators website, a hands-on program focused on the principles and techniques of implant dentistry. This program included more than 130 additional hours of implant training beyond the standard residency experience. Since then, Dr. Bunn has continued to pursue advanced implant education so he can incorporate current, effective techniques into patient care.

Following residency, Dr. Bunn carried that same commitment to learning into the areas of cosmetic dentistry, Invisalign®, and conservative esthetic care. He has trained with respected esthetic dentists from around the world, including hands-on education at the CosmedentThis link opens a new tab to Cosmedent website training facility in Chicago, where he focused on conservative esthetic bonding. He has also completed advanced Invisalign® training and is approaching 10 years as a certified Invisalign® provider.

His goal is to provide thoughtful, precise care that supports both function and appearance while helping patients feel confident in their long-term dental health.
